How To Give to The Derbyshire Community Foundation

Professional Advisors

If you are a solicitor, accountant or financial advisor this section could be useful in advising your clients on charitable giving.

Derbyshire Community Foundation recognises the important role Professional Advisors – Accountants, Solicitors, Tax Consultants and Independent Financial Advisors – play in guiding the decision-making of the individuals who wish to donate to charity.

As someone who offers this service you are already aware of the benefits of charitable giving – Gift Aid, Legacy donations and tax benefits, so in the sometimes bewildering array of charities, what does Derbyshire Community Foundation have to offer?

- Local Focus
Derbyshire Community Foundation operates within the county boundaries of Derbyshire. Providing financial support through Derbyshire Community Foundation goes directly to the communities of Derbyshire. The same cannot be said for many of the larger charities where your donations are simply absorbed into a national fund.

- Personalised Service
If your client is looking to address an issue, which is close to their hearts, we can tailor their fund so that they specify a geographical area e.g. Buxton, the High Peak or the Normanton area of Derby.

AND

Your client can specify a particular type of activity to support, e.g. children, sports, disabled people or financial awareness.

- Greater Involvement
Due to the close relationships we like to develop with our donors, we can offer a greater level of involvement, which begins with information on the grants that have been made, but can lead to developing direct links with the groups, so your client can actually see how their money has been used.Security

Derbyshire Community Foundation has been in existence since 1996 and so has a well-established track record in both handling funds and making grants. The Foundation has a Board of Trustees with a variety of backgrounds, skill and experience, providing an extensive knowledge of the County and its needs and ensuring that good stewardship is maintained at all times. We have established and comprehensive grant making methods to ensure each application is dealt with efficiently and assessed carefully. A donation to Derbyshire Community Foundation will still be supporting the communities of Derbyshire in 100 years time.
