Brief Description: In April 2008 the Royal Bank of Scotland created a new fund within Derbyshire Community Foundation. Its aim is to benefit the wide diversity of community and voluntary groups who are working hard to address the many needs within their local area within the themes below.
More Information: The three themes include:
- Health - including physical & mental health, sports and therapeutic activities
- Young People – projects that work with young people to provide activities to engage and support
- Community Life – projects that bring communities together or create a better sense of community spirit.
Type of Project costs funded:
- Capital (any items of equipment) including refurbishment / building work
If the building / refurbishment is large scale you will need to identify a specific item your £1,000 would purchase or contribute too.
- Revenue (any non-equipment costs) including ongoing running costs for a project or group
- One off events and one-off projects
Area:
Derby City, South Derbyshire District, Erewash
Amber Valley (but not including Alfreton)
South Derbyshire Dales (Including but no further North than Ashbourne)

Amount: The grant range is currently £50 to £1,000
Closing Dates:
There are no fixed closing dates. The decision making panel meet four times per year.
Examples of grants made:
£750 towards the transport costs of a local stroke club in Erewash
£750 for a Derby City based childrens holiday camp (for disadvantaged young people) to purchase equipment and activities
£750 to support the costs of a 'travelling' lunch club in South Derbyshire, offering a chance for older people in rural areas to meet and socialise
