Derbyshire Building Society Fund
In 2008/09 the fund is looking to support community and voluntary organisations helping with financial education and sport in the community.

Derbyshire Community Foundation Fund
This fund supports a broad range of small community and voluntary groups with a variety of different costs. As with all of the foundations funds the overarching purpose of each grant we make is to enhance the quality of life for people living in Derbyshire communities and to tackle disadvantages and inequalities faced by people living in the county today.

Fair Share Sinfin & Austin Fund
This funding stream is administered by the Foundation on behalf of the National Fair Share program and was devised to tackle issues within the Sinfin & Austin wards of Derby City creating a stronger community and to improve opportunities for residents.

Firm Foundations Fund
Firm Foundations is a broad funding stream aiming to improve the quality of life for Derbyshire residents by supporting a thriving community and voluntary sector that offers a wide range of services and facilities to local communities.

Jefford Weller Fund
This fund provides financial assistance to any community and voluntary organisation tackling homelessness issues and / or addressing housing problems.  The fund was established by Kathleen and John Weller in order to improve the lives of others in accordance with their faith and beliefs.

John Weston Fund
This fund was set up by local benefactor John Weston in 2002 and has two strands.
Strand One:  Support to individual young people with personal development
Strand Two:  Financial assistance to community and voluntary groups tackling issues related to health and well-being or supporting young people within the community.

Royal Bank of Scotland Derbyshire Charitable Fund
In April 2008 the Royal Bank of Scotland created a new fund within Derbyshire Community Foundation. Its aim is to benefit the wide diversity of community and voluntary groups who are working hard to address the many needs within their local area.

Southern Derbyshire Learning Fund
The Fund was designed to support community and voluntary groups offering opportunities for people to gain new skills, which will ultimately allow people to enter or re-enter the world of employment.

Sports Relief Fund
Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to use the power and passion of sport to tackle poverty and disadvantage.  Sport Relief has asked Derbyshire Community Foundation to distribute small grants, which will strengthen communities and provide opportunities for disadvantaged groups through sport or exercise.

Tom Carey Fund
This fund has been set up to support new and existing community activity in the Abbey ward of Derby City. The funds main purpose is to improve the quality of life for residents in this area.

Vickers Art Award
The Jonathan Vickers Charitable Settlement have set up a Named Fund to allow a biennial Art Award to support rising artists to produce new work in response to the heritage, landscape and people of Derbyshire. The aim is to enrich the cultural life of the County of Derbyshire with new art of national importance, accessible to and informed by local people.
Nottingham-born Helena Ben Zenou (34) has been awarded the third Derbyshire Community Foundation Vickers Art Award. An artist who thinks big in every way, Helena’s large paintings of buildings delighted the selection panel who were unanimous in awarding her the prize. See Vickers Art Award website.

 

 

The Grants offered by the Derbyshire Community Foundation support a broad range of voluntary sports, arts, leisure and cultural activities for all ages, in a wide variety of communities throught the county of Derbyshire. These are just a few of the recent recipients.
